Tour of Polar - an authorization point-and-click exploration

We’re always experimenting with new educational resources to help developers get started with Oso. In that spirit, we are stoked to share a new interactive learning experience we’re calling A Tour of Polar.

This experiment is a guided stroll through making authorization decisions against different combinations of policies and Facts all using Oso’s domain specific language for expressing authorization.

A Tour of Polar is intended to be a point-and-click introduction to build policies, create new facts and then see the authorization decisions that result. Inside each exploration, you will learn how to express common authorization patterns with policies and Facts you can edit directly. This split pane interface helps you conceptualize what authorization with Oso would feel like in practice with a developer experience built for tinkering and experimentation.

We’re shipping A Tour of Polar with 19 different explorations with sections cover Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Relationship-Based Access Control (ReBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC). We can’t wait to hear about your experience with this new interactive code-as-policy experience.
